Mental health is on everyone’s lips, but rarely are student voices at the center of the conversation. Leili’s project, Young Minds Think Alike, challenges that. Her goal is to reframe school-based mental health support by integrating Social Emotional Learning (SEL), empowering students in IEP/504 processes, and equipping school psychologists with better tools and training.
Leili highlights the gaps in current evaluation methods and the stigma students face when trying to advocate for their needs. Her project proposes more inclusive and student-centered assessments, budget-friendly strategies for mental health programming, and professional development for school psychologists.
With a bold vision and a collaborative spirit, Leili is helping create schools where students aren’t just assessed—they’re heard.
