Danny's Place has partnered with In Control Crash Prevention to provide our first Parent Info Night of the year. Parents of Junior High and High School students - and anyone else curious about how to model safe driving to our children and teens - are invited to join us on Tuesday, November 14th at 7pm at 543 Mass Ave to hear an engaging presentation from Dan Strollo, Executive Director of In Control.
In Control Crash Prevention is a New England-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing training, consulting, and services to keep people safe when driving. Statistics reinforce the importance of this mission: motor vehicle crashes are the number one cause of death among young drivers and their passengers. More teens and young adults die in violent auto collisions each year in the United States than the number two through five causes of death combined.
Parent Info Night participants will hear an update on the state of driving in the US, and receive resources and tips to stay safer, starting with your ride home. A gift certificate for Crash Prevention 101 Training (qualifying grads for auto insurance discounts) for a parent/guardian and their teen will be awarded to one lucky attendee.
This is a topic close to our hearts. Danny's Place was founded to honor the memory of Danny McCarthy, an Acton-Boxbourgh High School student who died tragically in 2003 after a car crash on a local road. We are committed to offering opportunities to our community to help educate and prevent auto injuries and fatalities.
There is no cost to attend, but space is limited. Please RSVP using the sign up form below.
